Asus VivoTab Smart has a global score of 58.7, which is slightly better than the Acer Iconia A1's 55.4 global score. Asus VivoTab Smart comes with Windows 8 operating system, while Acer Iconia A1 counts with Android 4.1 operating system. Asus VivoTab Smart's design is incredibly heavier but somewhat thinner than the Acer Iconia A1.

The Acer Iconia A1 features a little sharper screen than Asus VivoTab Smart, because although it has a little lower 768 x 1024px resolution and a way smaller display, it also counts with a little bit higher screen pixel density. Asus VivoTab Smart features a very superior memory capacity for games and applications than Acer Iconia A1, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage capacity.

Asus VivoTab Smart has a little faster CPU than Acer Iconia A1, because although it has 2 less CPU cores , it also counts with 1 GB more RAM and a better graphics processor running at 533 megahertz. Acer Iconia A1 has a much better battery life than Asus VivoTab Smart. The Asus VivoTab Smart features a bit better camera than Acer Iconia A1, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video definition, the Asus VivoTab Smart also has a back-facing camera with way more megapixels.

Although Asus VivoTab Smart is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Acer Iconia A1, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Acer Iconia A1. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Asus VivoTab Smart, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Acer Iconia A1, letting go some features and specifications.
