The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is better than the Acer Iconia A1, having a global score of 61.4 against 55.4. Both devices in this review include the same Android 4.1 operating system, so you shouldn't perceive any differences regarding that. Despite of the fact the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is older and incredibly heavier than Acer Iconia A1, it's design is still thinner.
The Acer Iconia A1 has a bit more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a bit lower 768 x 1024 resolution and a really smaller screen, it also counts with a little higher amount of pixels in each screen inch. Acer Iconia A1 has a quite bigger storage for games and applications than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a SD extension slot that holds 32 GB smaller, it also counts with 16 GB internal storage capacity.
The Acer Iconia A1 has just a bit better performance than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and although they both have 1 GB of RAM memory, the Acer Iconia A1 also has 2 more CPU cores and an additional GPU. Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with a way better battery performance than Acer Iconia A1, because it has a 41 percent bigger battery capacity.
The Acer Iconia A1 captures much better pictures and videos than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has a much better 1920x1080 (Full HD) video definition and a back facing camera with much more mega-pixels.
Although Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Acer Iconia A1, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Acer Iconia A1. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), otherwise you can save some money and get the Acer Iconia A1, giving up some specs and features.
