Galaxy Tab 8.9 has an overall score of 58.1, which is a bit better than Acer Iconia A3's general score of 55.2. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 design is somewhat thinner and somewhat lighter than the Acer Iconia A3, despite of the fact that it was released 3 years before. Both of these tablets include Android OS, but Galaxy Tab 8.9 has older 3.0 version and Acer Iconia A3 has Android 4.2.
Acer Iconia A3 features a quite superior hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has an additional graphics processing unit and more cores. Acer Iconia A3 has a bit more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because although it has a quite worse pixel density, and they both have an equal 800 x 1280px resolution, the Acer Iconia A3 also counts with a little larger screen.
Acer Iconia A3 counts with a little bit better camera than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a lot better 1920x1080 video resolution and a much higher 5 megapixels resolution camera in the back. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a much greater storage capacity to install applications and games than Acer Iconia A3, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal memory capacity.
The Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a way better battery life than Acer Iconia A3, because it has 6000mAh of battery capacity against 3540mAh.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 costs a little more money than the Acer Iconia A3, but it's still a good choice, because you can get a better tablet for that extra money.
