Comparison review
The Galaxy Tab 8.9 is slightly better than Acer Iconia Tab A700, with a 58.1 score against 56.5. Both of these tablets come with Android operating system, but the Galaxy Tab 8.9 has older 3.0 version while Acer Iconia Tab A700 has Android 4.1. Even though the Galaxy Tab 8.9 is older than the Acer Iconia Tab A700, it's design is a lot thinner and way lighter.
Acer Iconia Tab A700 counts with a bit sharper display than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a much better resolution of 1200 x 1920, a better pixels density and a little bit bigger screen. Acer Iconia Tab A700 counts with a little bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has 2 more cpu cores.
Galaxy Tab 8.9 has just a bit better camera than Acer Iconia Tab A700, although it has a camera in the back with lot less MP. Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with just a bit more memory capacity to install applications and games than Acer Iconia Tab A700, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal memory.
Acer Iconia Tab A700 features a really longer battery performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a 9800mAh battery size against 6000mAh.
Although Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Acer Iconia Tab A700, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Acer Iconia Tab A700. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Acer Iconia Tab A700, giving up some specs and features.
