The Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 is slightly better than the Galaxy Tab, getting a general score of 62.3 against 58.6. The Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 is a lighter and much thinner tablet than Galaxy Tab. Both tablets in this comparison work with Android OS (Operating System), but Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 has a more recent 4.4 version and Galaxy Tab has Android 2.3.3, counting with some additional features and optimized performance.

Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 has a much better processing power than Samsung Galaxy Tab, because it has more RAM, an additional GPU and a higher number of cores. The Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 features a way better looking screen than Galaxy Tab, because it has a lot higher 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution, a much better screen density and a little bit bigger screen.

Galaxy Tab has a way bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8, because although it has no external SD slot, it also counts with 32 GB internal storage. Although Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Samsung Galaxy Tab, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Samsung Galaxy Tab. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Alcatel OneTouch Hero 8, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Samsung Galaxy Tab, letting go a couple specs and features.
