The Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE has an overall score of 58.8, which is much better than the Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD's 53.4 overall score. Both of these tablets work with Android OS, but the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE has the previous 4.0 version while Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD has Android 4.1 version. Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE's construction is just a bit thinner than the Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD, but it's notably heavier and was released around 17 months before.
Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD features a quite better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD also has an additional GPU. Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE has a screen that's just as good as the screen in Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD, because although the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE has a little bit worse display density, and they both have the same resolution of 800 x 1280px, it also counts with a larger screen.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE shoots clearer photographs and videos than Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD, because it has a back facing camera with lot more mega pixels. Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD has just a bit more storage capacity for games and applications than Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, because although it has less internal storage capacity, it also counts with an external memory slot that supports up to 32 GB.
The Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE has a very superior battery performance than Alcatel OneTouch Tab 7 HD, because it has a 6100mAh battery size instead of 3300mAh.
