Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a general score of 61.4, which is better than the Amazon Fire HD 7's global score of 54.8. Both of these tablets include Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has older 4.1 version and Amazon Fire HD 7 has Android 4.4 version. Even though Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is older and notably heavier than Amazon Fire HD 7, it's body is still a little bit thinner.

Amazon Fire HD 7 has a bit faster processing unit than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and although they both have a 1 GB RAM memory, the Amazon Fire HD 7 also has a higher number of cores (and faster). Amazon Fire HD 7 counts with a brighter display than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a lot smaller display, and they both have the same resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, the Amazon Fire HD 7 also counts with a higher number of pixels per inch of display.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) captures much better pictures and videos than Amazon Fire HD 7, and although they both have the same video definition and the same video frame rates, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) also has a much more mega-pixels back camera. Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with a better memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Amazon Fire HD 7, because although it has just 8 GB internal memory capacity, it also counts with a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 64 GB.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with a really longer battery performance than Amazon Fire HD 7.

Although Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Amazon Fire HD 7, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Amazon Fire HD 7. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), else you can save some money and buy the Amazon Fire HD 7, letting go some features and specifications.
