Comparison review
Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has a general score of 57.6, which is just a bit better than the Amazon Fire HD 7's global score of 54.8. Both tablets we compare here use Android OS, but the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has a more recent 6.0 Marshmallow version while Amazon Fire HD 7 has Android 4.4, offering some nice extra features. Even though the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD is just a bit heavier than the Amazon Fire HD 7, it's a lot thinner and also a lot newer.
Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD counts with a bit better hardware performance than Amazon Fire HD 7, because it has more RAM and a larger number of cores. The Amazon Fire HD 7 counts with a little bit better screen than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, although it has a just a little worse display density, a little smaller display and a lot worse 1280 x 800 resolution.
The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD counts with a much greater memory capacity for apps and games than Amazon Fire HD 7, and although they both have the same 16 GB internal storage, the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD also has a slot for external memory cards that admits up to 128 GB.
