Comparison review

The Google Nexus 7 has a global score of 59.3, which is just a bit better than the Amazon Fire HD 8's 54.1 general score. Both tablets in this comparison use Android OS, but the Google Nexus 7 has newer 5.1 version and Amazon Fire HD 8 has Android 5.0 Lollipop, so it gives a couple nice extra features. Despite being the best portable tablet in our current comparison, we must tell that it is also much older, just a bit heavier and notably thicker.

Google Nexus 7 features a bit more powerful processing unit than Amazon Fire HD 8, and although they both have 4 CPU cores and a 1 GB RAM, the Google Nexus 7 also has a graphics co-processor. Google Nexus 7 has a more vivid screen than Amazon Fire HD 8, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, and they both have the same exact 800 x 1280px resolution, the Google Nexus 7 also counts with a just a little higher number of pixels in each inch of display.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 captures much clearer photos and videos than Google Nexus 7. The Amazon Fire HD 8 features more memory capacity for applications and games than Google Nexus 7, because although it has only 16 GB internal memory capacity, it also counts with an external memory slot that allows up to 128 GB.

Google Nexus 7 features a very superior battery duration than Amazon Fire HD 8.

The Google Nexus 7 not only is the best tablets between the ones we are comparing here, but it's also a lot cheaper, making it an easy decision.
