Comparison review

Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is better than the Amazon Fire HD 8, with a 61.4 score against 54.1. Even being the best in this review, the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) construction is incredibly older, way heavier and thicker than the Amazon Fire HD 8. Both of these tablets have Android operating system, but Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has older 4.1 version and Amazon Fire HD 8 has Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) and Amazon Fire HD 8 count with quite similar screens, because although the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a just a little lower number of pixels per inch in the screen, and they both have the same 800 x 1280px resolution, it also counts with a bigger display. The Amazon Fire HD 8 counts with much more memory to store more apps and games than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because it has 16 GB internal memory and an external memory card slot that holds up to 128 GB.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 features a little bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and although they both have a 1 GB RAM memory, the Amazon Fire HD 8 also has a greater number of cores. The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) features a much better camera than Amazon Fire HD 8, although it has a camera in the back with a way lower resolution and a lot lower (HD) video quality.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) features a much longer battery lifetime than Amazon Fire HD 8.

Although Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Amazon Fire HD 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Amazon Fire HD 8. If you want to save some money, you can get the Amazon Fire HD 8, letting go some specs and features, but you will get the most with your money.
