Comparison review
Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has a score of 57.6, which is a bit better than the Amazon Fire HD 8's global score of 54.1. Both tablets we are comparing come with Android OS (operating system), but Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has a newer 6.0 Marshmallow version while Amazon Fire HD 8 has Android 5.0 Lollipop. Even though the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD is newer than Amazon Fire HD 8, it's just a little heavier and just a little bit thicker.
Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD features a bit more powerful processor than Amazon Fire HD 8, because it has 2 GB more RAM memory and more CPU cores. The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD features a better looking display than Amazon Fire HD 8, and although they both have a display with the same size, the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD also has a much better resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels and a greater pixels density.
The Amazon Fire HD 8 and the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD count with quite similar memory to install applications and games, both of them have equal 16 GB internal storage capacity and a SD extension slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB. Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD shoots way better photographs and videos than Amazon Fire HD 8, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 video quality and the same video frame rates, the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD also has a back-facing camera with way more mega pixels.
The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD features a really longer battery life than Amazon Fire HD 8.
Although Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Amazon Fire HD 8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Amazon Fire HD 8. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Amazon Fire HD 8, resigning a couple features and specifications.
