Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) is a little bit better than the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE, having a global score of 58.5 against 55.7. Both tablets in this review have Android OS, but the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) has a more recent 4.1 version and Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE has Android 4.0, so it gives you a couple nice extra features. Although Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) and the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE were released with only a couple of months difference, Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0)'s body is thicker but also way lighter than the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE features a bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), and although they both have a Dual-Core CPU and 1 GB of RAM memory, the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE also has a graphics processor. The Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE features a bit more vivid display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), because it has a much higher resolution of 1200 x 1920, a greater pixels amount in each inch in the screen and a bigger screen.

Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) shoots much clearer photographs and videos than Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE.
