The Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a global score of 58.1, which is slightly better than Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE's 55.7 score. Both tablets in this review work with Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy Tab 8.9 has 3.0 version while Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE has Android 4.0 version. Despite of the fact that the Galaxy Tab 8.9 is older than the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE, it's construction is a little thinner and extremely lighter.

The Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE features just a bit better looking display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, and although they both have a display of the same size, the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE also has a higher display pixel density and a much higher resolution of 1200 x 1920.
