The iPad Air is better than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, with a 77.9 score against 68.5. IPad Air comes with iOS 8.x operating system, while Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has Android 4.2.2 operating system. IPad Air's body is heavier but just a little thinner than the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, and both were released with only 1 months difference.
The iPad Air has a little better performance than Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, because although it has a lower number of slower cores and a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with a much better graphics processor running at 600 MHz and a 64 bits processor.
