The Apple iPad mini 3 has a global score of 75.3, which is much better than the iPad 2's 57 global score. Both of these tablets use iOS OS (Operating System), but the Apple iPad mini 3 has 8.x version while iPad 2 has iOS 7.x version. The Apple iPad mini 3 is a way newer tablet, and it is also extremely lighter and somewhat thinner than the iPad 2.
The iPad mini 3 counts with a better performance than iPad 2, and although they both have a Dual-Core CPU, the iPad mini 3 also has a 64 bits CPU, a faster graphics co-processor working at 600 megahertz and a greater amount of RAM. IPad mini 3 features a lot better display than Apple iPad 2, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a lot higher resolution of 1536 x 2048px and a way better display density.
IPad mini 3 shoots much clearer pictures and videos than Apple iPad 2, because it has a lot higher 5 megapixels resolution back camera and a much better 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution. IPad mini 3 features much more memory capacity to install games and applications than Apple iPad 2, because it has 64 GB internal memory capacity.
IPad 2 features a bit longer battery performance than Apple iPad mini 3, because it has a 6944mAh battery capacity against 6350mAh.
Apple iPad mini 3 costs a bit more money than the iPad 2, but you can get a much better tablet for that few more dollars.
