Comparison review
The iPad Air 2 is a bit better than the iPad 3, having a global score of 74.2 against 69.5. The iPad Air 2 is a a lot newer device, and it's also incredibly thinner and much lighter than the iPad 3. Both of these tablets come with iOS OS (Operating System), but the iPad Air 2 has the newer 8.x version and iPad 3 has iOS 7.x.
The iPad Air 2 has a superior performance than Apple iPad 3, because although it has 1 less cpu cores , it also counts with more RAM and a 64-bits processing unit. IPad Air 2 counts with a slightly better display than Apple iPad 3. Both of them have a display with the same size, the same pixels density and an equal 2048 x 1536 resolution.
The iPad 3 counts with a very superior storage capacity for apps and games than iPad Air 2, because it has 32 GB internal memory capacity. IPad Air 2 counts with just a bit better camera than iPad 3, and although they both have a F2.4 aperture, the same video definition and the same video frame rates, the iPad Air 2 also has a camera with a much higher 8 MP resolution.
