IPad 3 is much better than the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), getting a general score of 71.1 against 61.4. The iPad 3 has iOS 6.1 OS, while Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with Android 4.1 OS. The iPad 3 construction is a little thinner but somewhat heavier than the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and they were released only 0 months apart.
The iPad 3 has a much more vibrant screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a much higher 1536 x 2048 pixels resolution and a lot higher pixels density.
