The iPad Air is a lot better than the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), with a overall score of 77.9 against 60.7. Even though the iPad Air is noticeably heavier than Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), it's much thinner and also newer. IPad Air counts with iOS 8.x operating system, while Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) has Android 4.1 operating system.
The iPad Air features a very superior processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), and although they both have the same RAM memory amount and the same number of cores, the iPad Air also has a graphics co-processor and a 64-bits processor. IPad Air counts with a much better looking display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), because it has a much bigger display, a lot better resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels and much more pixels per inch in the screen.
