The iPad Air has a general score of 77.7, which is a little bit better than iPad Air 2's overall score of 77.1. These tablets come with the same iOS 8.x OS (Operating System), so both should count with the same OS features. Although it's the best in this review, iPad Air is an older, a bit heavier and incredibly thicker tablet device than the iPad Air 2.
IPad Air features a display that's very similar to iPad Air 2's display, they have the same display pixels density, an equal 1536 x 2048px resolution and a display of the same size. The iPad Air has a little faster processing unit than iPad Air 2, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, and they both have a 64 bits processor, the iPad Air also counts with 1 more processing cores (but slower) and a graphics processor.
The Apple iPad Air 2 counts with a slightly better camera than iPad Air, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution, the same video frame rates and a F2.4 diafragm aperture, the Apple iPad Air 2 also has a camera in the back with much more megapixels. IPad Air features a much bigger memory to install applications and games than iPad Air 2, because it has more internal storage.
IPad Air has longer battery duration than Apple iPad Air 2, because it has an 8820mAh battery capacity against 7340mAh.
In addition to being the best tablet of the ones we are comparing here, the iPad Air is also the cheapest one.
