Comparison review
IPad mini 3 is a lot better than Apple iPad 2, having a 77.5 score against 62.1. The iPad mini 3 design is newer, thinner and extremely lighter than Apple iPad 2. Both tablets in this comparison review come with iOS OS, but the iPad mini 3 has the newer 8.x version while Apple iPad 2 has iOS 7.x version, offering a couple additional features.
Apple iPad mini 3 features a much better looking display than Apple iPad 2, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a way better pixels quantity per inch of screen and a way better 1536 x 2048 resolution. IPad mini 3 counts with a quite better performance than Apple iPad 2, and although they both have 2 CPU cores, the iPad mini 3 also has 512 MB more RAM, a better GPU and a 64-bit CPU.
Apple iPad mini 3 shoots a lot better photos and videos than iPad 2, and although they both have a same size diafragm aperture, the Apple iPad mini 3 also has a camera with a much higher resolution and a way better 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality. Apple iPad mini 3 counts with a much bigger memory capacity to install games and applications than iPad 2, because it has 128 GB internal storage capacity.
IPad 2 counts with just a little bit longer battery lifetime than Apple iPad mini 3, because it has a 9% more battery size.
Even being the best tablet in our current comparison, iPad mini 3 is also cheap compared to the iPad 2.
