Comparison review
The iPad mini is a bit better than Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation, with a global score of 68.1 against 62.7. Despite being the best in our current comparison, the iPad mini is a somewhat thicker and notably heavier tablet device than the Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation. Both tablets in this comparison review include iOS OS (Operating System), but iPad mini has a more recent 8.x version while Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation has iOS 7.x, so it counts with some extra features.
The iPod Touch 5th Generation's processing unit is very similar to the iPad mini one, they have 2 cpu cores, 512 MB of RAM and a 400 MHz graphics co-processor. IPod Touch 5th Generation counts with a brighter screen than iPad mini, because although it has a much smaller display and a quite lower resolution of 1136 x 640px, it also counts with much more pixels per inch in the screen.
The Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation's memory capacity for applications and games is just as good as iPad mini's one, both have the same 64 GB internal storage capacity. The iPad mini has a superior battery performance than iPod Touch 5th Generation, because it has 4440mAh of battery capacity instead of 1030mAh.
The Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation and iPad mini have quite similar cameras, both have the same (Full HD) video resolution, the same video frame rate, a 5 mega pixels back camera and a F2.4 camera aperture.
The Apple iPad mini is a bit more expensive than the iPod Touch 5th Generation, but it's still a great deal, as you can get a much better tablet for that extra money.
