The Barnes & Noble Nook HD has a general score of 41, which is slightly better than the Apple iPod touch 2nd generation's 40.5 overall score. Barnes & Noble Nook HD's design is much newer than Apple iPod touch 2nd generation's, but it is incredibly thicker and noticeably heavier. The Barnes & Noble Nook HD comes with Android 4.0 operating system, while Apple iPod touch 2nd generation counts with iOS 2.x operating system.

The Barnes & Noble Nook HD counts with a lot better performance than iPod touch 2nd generation, because it has an additional graphics processing unit, more processing cores and more RAM. The Barnes & Noble Nook HD features a much sharper screen than Apple iPod touch 2nd generation, because it has a much larger display, a much better 900 x 1440 pixels resolution and a greater amount of pixels per screen inch.

The iPod touch 2nd generation features a much bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Barnes & Noble Nook HD, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 24 GB more internal storage. Barnes & Noble Nook HD's camera is just as good as the camera in iPod touch 2nd generation.
