Comparison review
Apple iPad mini 2 has an overall score of 75, which is much better than iPod Touch 5th Generation's 61 score. Although the Apple iPad mini 2 is newer than the iPod Touch 5th Generation, it's notably thicker and way heavier. These devices use iOS operating system, but Apple iPad mini 2 has the newer 8.x version and iPod Touch 5th Generation has iOS 7.x, offering some additional features.
The Apple iPad mini 2 has a bit better looking display than iPod Touch 5th Generation, because although it has a little worse screen density, it also counts with a much larger display and a much higher resolution of 1536 x 2048. The iPad mini 2 has a better performing processing unit than Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation, and although they both have the same number of cores, the iPad mini 2 also has a 64 bits processor, a much better 600 MHz graphics co-processor and a higher amount of RAM.
The Apple iPad mini 2 counts with a camera that's very similar to the camera in Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation, they have the same resolution back facing camera, the same aperture, the same 1920x1080 video quality and the same 30 fps video frame rate. IPad mini 2 features a way bigger memory capacity to install applications and games than Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation, because it has more internal memory.

Apple iPad mini 2 costs a bit more than the iPod Touch 5th Generation, but it's still a great deal, because you can get a much better tablet for that extra money.
