The HTC Flyer is just a bit better than the Asus Fonepad 8, getting a score of 58.7 against 55.6. These tablets include Android operating system, but the HTC Flyer has older 3.2 version and Asus Fonepad 8 has Android 4.4 version. The HTC Flyer design is incredibly thicker and extremely heavier than Asus Fonepad 8.
The Asus Fonepad 8 features a bit better screen than HTC Flyer, because it has a better resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, a bit better display pixel density and a little bit bigger screen. The HTC Flyer features a greater storage capacity for apps and games than Asus Fonepad 8, because although it has a SD card slot that admits 32 GB smaller, it also counts with 32 GB internal memory capacity.
The Asus Fonepad 8 has a bit faster CPU than HTC Flyer, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processor, it also counts with more RAM memory and a higher number of cores (and they are faster). The HTC Flyer has a superior battery lifetime than Asus Fonepad 8. The HTC Flyer counts with a better camera than Asus Fonepad 8. Both have a 5 megapixels resolution back-facing camera.
Although HTC Flyer is a better device, it costs a lot more than Asus Fonepad 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Asus Fonepad 8. If you want to save some dollars, you can get Asus Fonepad 8, and give up a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
