The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD is just a bit better than the Asus Fonepad 8, having a overall score of 57.6 against 55.6. The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD is a somewhat thinner but just a bit heavier device than Asus Fonepad 8. Both tablets we are comparing work with Android operating system, but Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has the newer 6.0 Marshmallow version and Asus Fonepad 8 has Android 4.4 version, so it provides the user some nice extra features.
The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD's CPU is very similar to the processor in Asus Fonepad 8, although the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD also has more CPU cores (although slower) and a larger amount of RAM memory. Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has a bit sharper screen than Asus Fonepad 8, and although they both have a display of the same size, the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD also has more pixels per inch in the screen and a lot higher 1200 x 1920 resolution.
The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD shoots much clearer videos and photos than Asus Fonepad 8, because it has a much more megapixels back facing camera. The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD features just a bit more storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Asus Fonepad 8, and although they both have exactly the same 16 GB internal memory, the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD also has an external SD slot that supports up to 128 GB.
Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD counts with a really longer battery performance than Asus Fonepad 8.
Although Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Asus Fonepad 8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Asus Fonepad 8. If you want to save a few dollars, you can get the Asus Fonepad 8, giving up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your money.
