The Asus MeMO Pad 8 has a global score of 60.1, which is way better than the Barnes & Noble Nook HD's 41 general score. Asus MeMO Pad 8's design is newer, a bit lighter and thinner than the Barnes & Noble Nook HD. Both of these tablets work with Android OS (operating system), but Asus MeMO Pad 8 has the newer 4.4 version while Barnes & Noble Nook HD has Android 4.0 version, so it gives you a couple nice extra features.

Asus MeMO Pad 8 has a screen that is just as good as the display in Barnes & Noble Nook HD, although the Asus MeMO Pad 8 also has a quite higher pixel amount in each inch of screen, a little bit larger display and a higher resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The Asus MeMO Pad 8 has a superior storage for games and applications than Barnes & Noble Nook HD, because it has an external SD slot that supports up to 64 GB and more internal memory.

The Asus MeMO Pad 8 counts with just a little better performance than Barnes & Noble Nook HD, because although it has doesn't have a graphics co-processor, it also counts with more CPU cores and more RAM. The Asus MeMO Pad 8 captures way better pictures and videos than Barnes & Noble Nook HD. The Asus MeMO Pad 8's battery life is just as good as the Barnes & Noble Nook HD one.

Asus MeMO Pad 8 is a bit more expensive than Barnes & Noble Nook HD, but it's still a great deal, because you can get a lot more features for that extra money.
