Amazon Fire HD 8 has a general score of 54.1, which is a lot better than the Barnes & Noble NOOK Tablet's 38.8 overall score. Both of these tablets come with Android operating system, but the Amazon Fire HD 8 has a newer 5.0 Lollipop version and Barnes & Noble NOOK Tablet has Android 2.3, providing you a lot of extra features. The Amazon Fire HD 8 body is incredibly newer, notably lighter and way thinner than Barnes & Noble NOOK Tablet.

Amazon Fire HD 8 has a little better hardware performance than Barnes & Noble NOOK Tablet, and although they both have a 1 GB RAM memory, the Amazon Fire HD 8 also has a larger number of cores.
