Google Nexus 7 has an overall score of 57.1, which is just a bit better than the Acer Iconia Tab A700's 56.5 overall score. Even when the Google Nexus 7 and the Acer Iconia Tab A700 were released only a couple of months apart, the Google Nexus 7 is incredibly lighter and just a little bit thinner. Both tablets in this review come with Android OS, but the Google Nexus 7 has 5.1 version and Acer Iconia Tab A700 has Android 4.1 version, giving some nice extra features and a performance increase.
The Google Nexus 7 has a slightly better looking screen than Acer Iconia Tab A700, although it has a lot worse 800 x 1280 resolution, a really smaller screen and a little worse screen density. The Google Nexus 7 counts with a bit more powerful processing unit than Acer Iconia Tab A700, and although they both have the same number of cores and the same RAM amount, the Google Nexus 7 also has an extra GPU.
Acer Iconia Tab A700 has a very superior memory capacity for games and applications than Google Nexus 7, because it has 32 GB internal storage capacity and a slot for external memory cards that admits a maximum of 64 GB. Acer Iconia Tab A700 has a way better battery duration than Google Nexus 7, because it has a 9800mAh battery capacity.
Acer Iconia Tab A700 features a greater camera than Google Nexus 7.
Although Google Nexus 7 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Acer Iconia Tab A700, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Acer Iconia Tab A700. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Google Nexus 7, else you can save some money and get the Acer Iconia Tab A700, resigning some specs and features.
