Comparison review
Microsoft Surface 2 has an overall score of 63.4, which is just a bit better than iPad 2's 62.1 global score. The Microsoft Surface 2 is a newer tablet device than the iPad 2, although it is just a little bit thicker and a little bit heavier. Microsoft Surface 2 comes with Windows RT 8.1 operating system, while iPad 2 has iOS 7.x operating system.
Microsoft Surface 2 has a brighter screen than iPad 2, because it has a much better resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, a little larger screen and a much greater amount of pixels per inch in the display. The Apple iPad 2 has as much memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos as Microsoft Surface 2, and although the Apple iPad 2 has no SD extension slot, they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal memory capacity.
Microsoft Surface 2 has a little faster processor than Apple iPad 2, because although it has doesn't have an additional GPU, it also counts with 1,5 GB more RAM and a larger number of faster cores. Apple iPad 2 features a superior battery lifetime than Microsoft Surface 2. Apple iPad 2 features just a bit better camera than Microsoft Surface 2, although it has a much worse 1280x720 video quality and a camera in the back with way less megapixels.
Although Microsoft Surface 2 is a better device, it costs more than Apple iPad 2, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Apple iPad 2. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Microsoft Surface 2, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Apple iPad 2, resigning some features and specifications.
