Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a global score of 72.2, which is better than iPad 2's score of 62.1. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has Windows 8.1 Pro operating system, and iPad 2 works with iOS 7.x operating system. Although Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is notably newer than iPad 2, it is incredibly heavier and just a bit thicker.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a little bit better processing power than Apple iPad 2, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processor, and they both have the same number of cores, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 also counts with 7,5 GB more RAM memory. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a better looking screen than Apple iPad 2, because it has a way better screen pixels density, a lot higher resolution of 1440 x 2160 pixels and a larger display.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 counts with much more memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Apple iPad 2, because it has 512 GB internal memory. Apple iPad 2 has a much better battery lifetime than Microsoft Surface Pro 3. The iPad 2 features a slightly better camera than Microsoft Surface Pro 3, although it has a way lower 1280x720 (HD) video definition and a back facing camera with way less MP.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 costs more than Apple iPad 2, but it's still a great deal, as you can get a lot more features for that extra money.
