Both of these tablets come with Android operating system, but Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has a more recent 4.4.2 version and Motorola Xoom 2 has Android 3.2. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) body is newer, a little lighter and somewhat thinner than Motorola Xoom 2.
