The LG G Pad X 8.0 has a global score of 63.5, which is slightly better than Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition's general score of 60.4. The LG G Pad X 8.0 body is noticeably newer, thinner and somewhat lighter than Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition. These tablets have Android OS (Operating System), but LG G Pad X 8.0 has newer 6.0 Marshmallow version and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition has Android 3.2 version, providing a couple nice extra features and performance optimizations.

The LG G Pad X 8.0 counts with a little faster CPU than Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics co-processor, it also counts with a larger amount of RAM memory and a higher number of faster cores. LG G Pad X 8.0 counts with a display that's just as good as Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition's display, because although the LG G Pad X 8.0 has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a lot better resolution of 1200 x 1920 and a much higher pixel count per inch of display.

The Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition takes much better photographs and videos than LG G Pad X 8.0. Both of them have the same 1280x720 (HD) video definition, a same resolution back-facing camera and the same video frame rates. The LG G Pad X 8.0 has a greater memory for games and applications than Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition, because although it has only 16 GB internal memory, it also counts with an external memory card slot that allows a maximum of 128 GB.

LG G Pad X 8.0 has superior battery lifetime than Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition, because it has a 19 percent bigger battery capacity.
