Comparison review

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a general score of 58.1, which is slightly better than the Motorola XOOM CDMA's global score of 57.3. Both tablets in our current comparison work with Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has an older 3.0 version while Motorola XOOM CDMA has Android 4.0. Although the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Motorola XOOM CDMA were released with only a few months difference, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is a lot thinner and noticeably lighter.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 features a sharper screen than Motorola XOOM CDMA, because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have the same resolution of 800 x 1280, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 also counts with a quite greater screen density. The Motorola XOOM CDMA features a bit better hardware performance than Galaxy Tab 8.9. They have the same number of cores.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a bit bigger memory for games and applications than Motorola XOOM CDMA, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage. Galaxy Tab 8.9 features a way better battery performance than Motorola XOOM CDMA. The Motorola XOOM CDMA has a much better camera than Galaxy Tab 8.9, and although they both have the same video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Motorola XOOM CDMA also has a back-facing camera with a much better resolution.
