The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has a general score of 75.8, which is a lot better than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9's overall score of 58.1. These devices come with Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has 4.4.2 version while Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0, counting with some nice extra features and optimized performance. The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) design is noticeably newer and just a little bit thinner, but also heavier than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9.
