The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has a general score of 75.8, which is better than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018)'s score of 68.3. These tablets come with Android operating system, but Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has older 4.4.2 version and Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has Android 8.1 Oreo version. Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is a older and notably heavier tablet than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), but Samsung made it thinner anyway.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has an incredibly better display than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because it has a way better resolution of 1600 x 2560, a larger screen and a much better pixels count per inch in the display. Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has a much bigger memory for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), and although they both have equal 32 GB internal memory capacity, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) also has a SD memory card expansion slot that admits a maximum of 400 GB.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) counts with a superior hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), and although they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) also has an additional graphics processing unit and more RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) counts with a greater camera than Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), although it has a worse 1920x1080 video definition and a lot less mega-pixels resolution back facing camera.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) counts with a much longer battery life than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because it has an 8220mAh battery capacity against 5000mAh.

Although Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018). So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), giving up some specs and features.
