Comparison review

Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a little bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, getting a global score of 61.4 against 58.1. Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1)'s construction is newer, but somewhat thicker and much heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. Both of these tablets come with Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a more recent 4.1 version and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0.

The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with a little faster processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. Both have the same number of cores. Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a better display than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a bit smaller display, and they both have an equal 800 x 1280px resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 also counts with a just a bit better screen pixel density.

The Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a lot bigger storage capacity to store more apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) takes much better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. They have the same video frame rates, the same 1280x720 (HD) video quality and a camera in the back with a 3 megapixels resolution.

The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with greater battery lifetime than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a 17 percent bigger battery size.

Although Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a better device, it costs a lot more than Galaxy Tab 8.9, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy Tab 8.9. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab 8.9, giving up some specifications.
