Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a general score of 61.4, which is just a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab's score of 58.6. Both of these tablets use Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a newer 4.1 version and Samsung Galaxy Tab has Android 2.3.3 version, so it offers some additional features. Although Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is extremely heavier than Samsung Galaxy Tab, it's thinner and also newer.
Samsung Galaxy Tab features a bit better looking display than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a much lower 600 x 1024 resolution and a way smaller screen, it also counts with a bit greater pixels number in each screen inch. Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with a bit more powerful processor than Samsung Galaxy Tab, because it has a larger number of cores and a greater amount of RAM.
Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with a little bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy Tab, and although they both have the same resolution camera, the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) also has a way higher video quality. The Samsung Galaxy Tab has a bigger storage capacity for apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has no SD memory slot, it also counts with more internal memory.
The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a much better battery duration than Galaxy Tab, because it has a 7000mAh battery capacity.
Although Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Samsung Galaxy Tab, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Samsung Galaxy Tab. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get Samsung Galaxy Tab, and give up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most out of your money.
