Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is just a bit better than the Google Nexus 7, having a 62.7 score against 59.3. Although the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Google Nexus 7 were released only 3 months apart, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1's design is much heavier but also a little bit thinner. Both of these devices include Android operating system, but the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has older 4.0 version and Google Nexus 7 has Android 5.1.
The Google Nexus 7 has a sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, because although it has a really smaller display, and they both have the same exact resolution of 800 x 1280, the Google Nexus 7 also counts with a higher pixel number in each display inch. The Google Nexus 7 counts with a bit faster CPU than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and although they both have the same RAM amount, the Google Nexus 7 also has 2 more processing cores and a much better GPU running at 416 megahertz.
The Google Nexus 7 has more memory capacity for apps and games than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 24 GB more internal memory. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 counts with a much longer battery performance than Google Nexus 7, because it has a 62 percent more battery capacity.

Although Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Google Nexus 7, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Google Nexus 7. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get the Google Nexus 7, and give up a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your money.
