The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has an overall score of 62.7, which is a little bit better than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD's 57.6 score. Both of these tablets have Android OS, but Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has the older 4.0 version while Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Even being the best in this comparison review, it must be told that it's also a notably older, somewhat thicker and extremely heavier portable tablet.
The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD counts with a sharper screen than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, because although it has a lot smaller screen, it also counts with a lot greater pixel amount per inch in the display and a way higher resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels. Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD counts with a way bigger storage to install applications and games than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, because it has an external memory slot that holds up to 128 GB and 16 GB internal memory capacity.
The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD features a little faster CPU than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processor, it also counts with more processing cores and more RAM memory. The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD counts with a lot better camera than Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, because it has a much higher 8 MP resolution back camera.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 features a much longer battery duration than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, because it has a 37% more battery capacity.
Although Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, resigning a couple features and specifications.
