Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) is just a bit better than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, getting a 68.3 score against 66.2. Although the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) is incredibly newer than the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, it is somewhat heavier and thicker. Both of these tablets use Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has the newer 8.1 Oreo version while Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has Android 4.4.2, giving some nice extra features and increased performance.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 counts with a much better screen than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018). Both have the same screen density, exactly the same 1280 x 800px resolution and a screen with the same size. Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 counts with just a bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, and they both have a Quad-Core processing unit, the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 also counts with an additional graphics processor.

Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) counts with a lot bigger storage to install games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has 16 GB more internal memory and an external SD slot that holds a maximum of 400 GB. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) features a much better camera than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has a much better (Full HD) video definition and a back facing camera with a lot better 5 MP resolution.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has just a little better battery life than Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, because it has 5000mAh of battery capacity against 4450mAh.

Although Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) is a better device, it costs a lot more than Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), else you can save some money and get the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, giving up a couple specifications.
