The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is just a bit better than the Galaxy Tab 8.9, getting a 60.8 score against 58.1. Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus's body is noticeably lighter but thicker than the Galaxy Tab 8.9, and both of them were released only a few months apart. These devices work with Android operating system, but Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus has 4.1.2 version and Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0 version, giving a couple nice extra features and performance optimizations.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 features a bit better looking screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, and although they both have a better count of pixels per inch in the display, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 also has a larger display and a better resolution of 800 x 1280. The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus counts with a little better performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. Both of them have the same number of cores.
The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and the Galaxy Tab 8.9 both feature very similar cameras, they have the same resolution camera in the back, the same video quality and the same video frame rate. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with just a bit more memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, because although it has no external memory slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal memory capacity.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a very superior battery duration than Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, because it has a 50% bigger battery capacity.
Although Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Galaxy Tab 8.9, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy Tab 8.9. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the Galaxy Tab 8.9, giving up some specs and features.
