Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 has a global score of 64.8, which is just a bit better than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1)'s 61.4 score. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 construction is much lighter and thinner than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), even though both were released with only a couple of months difference. Both of these devices have Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 has the older 4.0.4 version while Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has Android 4.1.
Galaxy Tab 7.7 features a little better performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and although they both have a Dual-Core processing unit and a 1 GB RAM, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 also has an additional graphics co-processor. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 features a better looking display than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a lot smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 also counts with a better pixels density.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 counts with a much better storage capacity for applications and games than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a SD card slot that allows up to 32 GB against 64 GB, it also counts with 64 GB internal memory capacity. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a much longer battery life than Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, because it has a 37 percent greater battery size.
The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a superior camera than Galaxy Tab 7.7. Both have a back camera with a 3 MP resolution, the same 1280x720 (HD) video quality and the same video frame rate.
Although Galaxy Tab 7.7 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1). If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), giving up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
