Comparison review
Galaxy Tab 7.7 is better than the Galaxy Tab 8.9, having a score of 64.8 against 58.1. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 construction is a little thinner and lighter than the Galaxy Tab 8.9, even when both of them were released with only a couple of months difference. Both devices in this comparison have Android OS, but Galaxy Tab 7.7 has 4.0.4 version and Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0, providing some extra features.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 has just a bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 also has a graphics processing unit. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 has a bit more vivid display than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because although it has a little smaller display, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 800 x 1280px, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 also counts with a little bit better display density.
The Galaxy Tab 7.7 has a bigger memory for applications and games than Galaxy Tab 8.9, and although they both have the same internal memory, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 also has a SD card slot that allows up to 32 GB. Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9's camera is just as good as Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7's camera, they have the same resolution back facing camera, the same video frame rate and the same 1280x720 video quality.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a bit superior battery performance than Galaxy Tab 7.7, because it has a 6000mAh battery size.
Although Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy Tab 8.9, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy Tab 8.9. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab 8.9, letting go some specs and features.
