The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 has a general score of 64.8, which is much better than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD's 57.6 global score. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 design has the same thickness than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, but it is just a bit lighter. Both devices we are comparing work with Android OS (Operating System), but the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 has the older 4.0.4 version while Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has Android 6.0 Marshmallow version.
The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has a little better processing power than Galaxy Tab 7.7, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processing unit, it also counts with 6 more cores and 2 GB more RAM memory. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 counts with just a bit better looking screen than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, although it has a much worse pixels density, a little bit smaller display and a way lower resolution of 800 x 1280px.
Galaxy Tab 7.7 has a lot bigger memory capacity for apps and games than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, because although it has a SD card slot that supports 96 GB smaller, it also counts with more internal memory. Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD counts with a battery duration that is just as good as the Galaxy Tab 7.7 one.
The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD shoots greater photographs and videos than Galaxy Tab 7.7, because it has a camera in the back with much more mega pixels and a much higher video resolution.
Although Galaxy Tab 7.7 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, giving up a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your savings.
