Comparison review
Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is slightly better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, with a 61.4 score against 58.1. These tablets include Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has newer 4.1 version and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0 version. Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a newer tablet than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, but it is thicker and a lot heavier.
The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) has a bit better processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. Both of them have the same number of cores. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have the same 800 x 1280 resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 also counts with a bit higher screen pixel density.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a superior memory capacity to install games and applications than Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 64 GB internal storage. Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) shoots much better pictures and videos than Galaxy Tab 8.9. Both have the same 1280x720 (HD) video resolution, the same video frame rates and a back camera with a 3 MP.
The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) counts with greater battery lifetime than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a 7000mAh battery capacity against 6000mAh.
Although Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Galaxy Tab 8.9, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy Tab 8.9. If you want to save some dollars, you can get the Galaxy Tab 8.9, and give up a few specs and features, but you will get the most out of your budget.
