Comparison review

The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is slightly better than the Galaxy Tab 8.9, with a general score of 60.8 against 58.1. Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus's body is thicker but much lighter than the Galaxy Tab 8.9, and they were released only 6 months apart. Both tablets in our current comparison use Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus has 4.1.2 version while Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0, providing you some additional features and better performance.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 features a little more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, and although they both have the same count of pixels per inch in the display, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 also has a bigger display and a higher resolution of 800 x 1280px. Galaxy Tab 8.9 features a little bit more memory capacity to install applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with more internal memory.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus counts with a little bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. They have a Dual-Core CPU. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a really longer battery performance than Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, because it has a 6000mAh battery capacity instead of 4000mAh. Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus feature quite similar cameras, they have the same video frame rates, the same 1280x720 (HD) video resolution and a same resolution camera.

Although Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Galaxy Tab 8.9, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy Tab 8.9. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy the Galaxy Tab 8.9, and give up a few features and specifications, but you will get the most out of your savings.
