Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) is a little bit better than the LG G Pad X 8.0, getting a overall score of 68.3 against 63.5. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) design is much newer than the LG G Pad X 8.0's, although it is thicker and somewhat heavier. These tablets come with Android OS, but the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has the newer 8.1 Oreo version while LG G Pad X 8.0 has Android 6.0 Marshmallow, counting with some additional features and some performance improvements.

LG G Pad X 8.0 has a sharper screen than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), and although they both have a same size screen, the LG G Pad X 8.0 also has a much higher 1200 x 1920 resolution and a greater amount of pixels per inch in the display. The LG G Pad X 8.0 has a bit faster processor than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), and although they both have 2 GB of RAM memory, the LG G Pad X 8.0 also has more processing cores.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) takes much clearer photographs and videos than LG G Pad X 8.0. They have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality, the same resolution camera and the same video frame rate. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) features much more memory for apps and games than LG G Pad X 8.0, because it has 32 GB internal storage and an external SD slot that admits up to 400 GB.

The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) features just a little better battery life than LG G Pad X 8.0, because it has a 5000mAh battery capacity.
