Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is much better than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), having a overall score of 75.8 against 68.3. Both of these tablets come with Android OS, but the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has the previous 4.4.2 version while Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) has Android 8.1 Oreo version. Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014)'s construction is somewhat thinner than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), but it's way heavier and was released many years before.

Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) counts with a way better looking screen than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because it has a larger screen, a much higher 1600 x 2560px resolution and a lot better display pixel density. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) features a greater processing power than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) also has an extra GPU and more RAM memory.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) features a much greater storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), and although they both have exactly the same internal storage, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) also has an external SD slot that holds up to 400 GB.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) features a superior battery duration than Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), because it has an 8220mAh battery capacity. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) shoots a lot better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), although it has a lower video resolution and a camera in the back with much less mega pixels resolution.

Although Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018). So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), otherwise you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018), giving up a couple specs and features.
