Comparison review
The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has a general score of 62.7, which is just a bit better than the Galaxy Tab's overall score of 58.6. Both tablets in this comparison use Android operating system, but the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has the newer 4.0 version and Galaxy Tab has Android 2.3.3. Although the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is notably heavier than Galaxy Tab, it's somewhat thinner and also newer.
Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has a more powerful processing unit than Galaxy Tab, because it has a larger number of cores , an extra GPU and 512 MB more RAM. Samsung Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 feature extremely similar displays, because although the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has a little bit worse number of pixels per inch in the display, it also counts with a higher resolution of 800 x 1280px and a lot bigger display.
Samsung Galaxy Tab takes much better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. Both of them have a same resolution back camera. Samsung Galaxy Tab has a better storage capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with 32 GB internal storage.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has a superior battery performance than Galaxy Tab, because it has a 7000mAh battery capacity.
Although Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Galaxy Tab, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy Tab. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, else you can save some dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab, resigning some specs and features.
