Galaxy Tab has a score of 58.6, which is just a bit better than the Galaxy Tab 8.9's global score of 58.1. Both tablets in this review use Android operating system, but the Galaxy Tab has an older 2.3.3 version and Galaxy Tab 8.9 has Android 3.0. Although Galaxy Tab and the Galaxy Tab 8.9 were only released 7 months apart, the Galaxy Tab construction is lighter but also thicker.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 features a bit more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Tab, and although they both have a better count of pixels per inch in the display, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 also has a better resolution of 800 x 1280px and a bigger screen. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 features just a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab, because it has more 1000 megahertz cpu cores.
The Galaxy Tab shoots clearer photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. Both of them have the same video frame rate, the same video quality and the same resolution back-facing camera. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 features a very superior memory capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Tab, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 32 GB more internal storage capacity.
The Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a really longer battery duration than Samsung Galaxy Tab, because it has a 6000mAh battery size.
